The center court's fountain was rebuilt in the 1980's renovation. It's been years since I've seen any water inside. If my memory serves me correctly the old fountain was occasionally used for fishing contests. Imagine people standing around a fountain in an indoor shopping mall, fishing. Only in America.
Here's an incredible shot from a 1962 postcard. In the bottom left of the picture you can see the original inlay on the floor, and on the left hand side you can see part of the sign from the original Farnams store. This photo is facing the South side of the court.
